Platelet Rich Plasma North Hollywood

Platelet Rich Plasma, Pacific Implant Group Platelet Rich Plasma, commonly called PRP, is one of the latest advances in dental medicine, available to North Hollywood patients at Pacific Implant Group. This innovative process, performed here in our office, works by magnifying the healing power of your own body.

What is PRP?

Plasma is a component of blood, as are platelets. Both of these compounds are essential for the growth of new cells and healing tissue. PRP is a substance, created from your own blood, which contains highly concentrated levels of healing components. It has long been used in hospital settings, but it required a significant amount of blood and the process was pricey. The concept of PRP is not new, but the technology that allows it to be produced quickly and economically with a small amount of blood is new.

How Platelet Rich Plasma is used

Your dentist will draw a small amount of blood. A process known as centrifugation is used to isolate and concentrate blood platelets in a small amount of plasma. Our office is equipped with state of the art equipment, making the centrifugation process especially efficient. The resulting substance, which is the Platelet Rich Plasma, may be used for a variety of applications including:
  • Speed healing and reduce risk of complications after a surgery
  • Optimize results of dental implant treatment
  • Enhance results of bone grafts or soft tissue grafting
  • Improve healing after an oral injury

Are you a good candidate?

Virtually anyone who might benefit from PRP is a potential candidate. Because it consists of compounds that came from your own blood, it is especially safe and natural way to stimulate healing and bone regeneration.

During your consultation, your dentist will tell you if PRP could be a beneficial part of your treatment plan. Give us a call at (818) 975-3888 to schedule.
